LEGENDARY AMAZON PLAN
2 Nights / 3 Days
DAY 1 – Marasha Nature Reserve (Peru)
Arrival in Leticia and transfer to the port to navigate the majestic Amazon River toward the Marasha Nature Reserve (Peru).
Hike for 2.5 hours along flooded-forest trails to explore the flora and fauna of the várzea ecosystem.
Lunch, check-in, and canoe or kayak tour on Lake Marasha.
Observation of exotic birds such as the hoatzin, and visit to the “grandfather” ceiba tree, over 400 years old.
Dinner and nighttime canoe safari to spot caimans.
Optional: night hike.
Overnight in cabins.
DAY 2 – Puerto Alegría, Monkey Island & Amazon Açaí Lodge
Optional: 5:00 a.m. canoe outing for birdwatching.
Breakfast and departure through aquatic trails back to the Amazon River.
Speedboat trip to Puerto Alegría (Peru); community visit with traditional jungle and mountain dances.
Continue to Monkey Island for an encounter with squirrel monkey (saimiri) groups.
Transfer to Amazon Açaí Lodge, lunch, and check-in.
Visit to Puerto Nariño and the Naipata viewpoint.
Tour of the Tarapoto Lakes: swimming and observation of pink and gray river dolphins.
Dinner and nighttime jungle walk to observe nocturnal wildlife and the sounds of the forest.
Overnight at Amazon Açaí Lodge.
DAY 3 – Leticia & Tabatinga City Tour (Brazil)
Breakfast.
Speedboat transfer to Leticia.
City tour of Leticia and Tabatinga by taxi: market, artisan galleries, border area, commercial district, and Comara viewpoint.
Transfer to the airport one hour before the flight.
Note: If your flight departs later in the day, additional activities may be done from the Lodge (kayaking on the Amazon and Guakarí River, jungle hiking, artisanal fishing).
