Arrival at the Alfredo Vásquez Cobo Airport in the city of Leticia

Reception, transfer to the river dock on the Amazon River

Departure by artisanal boat Amazon tour, we navigate the Yahuarcaca creek upstream to the Tekuna Lodge Indigenous
-
Reserve. (The tour of the Yahuarcaca creek is only possible during the high water season from December to May, during low water the entrance to the Tekuna Lodge Reserve would be by land)

After this exciting experience of navigating the wild trails.

Departure to the Yahurcaca lakes, scenic tour by artisanal indigenous boat.

Optional: Swim in Lake Yahuarcaca.

Weather permitting, we will have a beautiful sunset on the banks of the great Amazon River.

Night outing by boat to spot nocturnal wildlife, tour along the banks of the Yahuarcaca ravine in search of nocturnal birds and other inhabitants of the jungle, who with their songs and sounds compose true jungle symphonies.

Return to the Tekuna Lodge Indigenous Reserve.

Day 2

Departure by boat to the Marasha Natural Reserve (Peru) (travel time 20 minutes)

Upon our arrival in Peru, we walk through natural trails of 2:30-minute floodplain rainforest to the Marasha Natural Reserve (Peru).
-
During our tour we will recognize species of flora and fauna of the lowland forest on the banks of the Amazon River.

Lunch in the Marasha Nature Reserve.

Canoe or Kayak tour on Lake Marasha

Observation of exotic birds of the environment such as hoatzin (a primitive bird)

Visit to the "grandfather" tree of ceiba, imposing tree of more than 400 years.

Dinner at Marasha Natural Reserve.

Night canoeing over Lake Marasha, for the observation of nocturnal fauna.
Day 3

Breakfast at 7:00 AM.

Departure in artisanal boats to the Amazon River (in high water) or on foot if it is the low water season.

Departure in tourist boats to Puerto Alegría (Peru) delight with dances from the Peruvian jungle, brief presentation of Peruvian culture.

Departure to the Isla de los Micos, trail to observe the Friar monkeys, the dominant species on the island.
-
Arrival at Amazon Açaí Lodge, welcome juice, reception and accommodation, accommodation in cabins.

Lunch at the Amazon Açaí Lodge.

Departure to the indigenous community of Mocagua.
-
Upon our visit to the community we will take a tour between houses and crops.

Then we begin the walk along the Maikuchiga trail to the house of the monkeys (Firm and floodable jungle path).

Instruction and identification of New World primate species, distribution and ecology.

Observation of species of monkeys in recovery such as: White-bellied Boqui, Churucos, Volador, Frailes, Maiceros or Capuchinos, which are part of the first stage of readaptation to the natural environment.

Talk about the process of recovery of the monkeys, behavior, ecological function, stages for the return to the natural environment, participation of the Mocagua community in primate conservation projects, benefits for the community. (the visit to the Maikuchiga monkey house during the high water season is only possible in canoes)

Night walk in the terra firma forest.
Day 4

Breakfast 8-00 A.M.

Visit to the Moroapu a Maloca Ticuna or grandparents' house.
-
During our visit, with the grandparents we will know the traditional crops where we will know about species of use in traditional medicine, the grandparents will tell us stories and they will sing in their mother tongue and we will learn about the indigenous Ticunas crafts such as weaving chambira and painting Yanchama (Fibers of palm and tree bark).

We will learn about the skills in the use of blowgun and bow and arrow.

Typical lunch at the Maloca Moroapu.

Visit to Puerto Nariño the natural manger of Colombia, tour of the town.

Visit to the Natutama Foundation, talk about dolphins and other mammals of the Amazon.

Visit to the Naipata viewpoint where we will have a spectacular panoramic view of Puerto Nariño and the Amazon River.

Departure to the lakes of Tarapoto.

Visit and swim in the lakes of Tarapoto.

Observation of pink and gray Amazon dolphins.
-
Accommodation at the Amazon Açaí Lodgel.

Day 5

City tour Leticia and Tabatinga by Taxi (2 hours approx.)

Visit the Leticia market and artisan galleries, the Tabatinga Brasil and Leticia Colombia border, the Tabatinga market, the Tabatinga shopping area, and the Comara lookout.

Transfer to the airport one hour before the flight.

It is essential to have the citizenship card, if you are a minor, identity card, or civil registry and the authorization of the parents (if only one of the parents accompanies you and if the program requires you to leave the country), if you are a foreigner resident in Colombia the immigration card or passport, as well as the current international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever, (apply with a minimum of 10 days before the trip.) and against tetanus. (Vaccines is a preventive suggestion, but not mandatory).
