AMAZON AÇAÍ LODGE EXPLORER PLAN

4 Nights / 5 Days 

DAY 1 – Arrival and Welcome at Amazon Açaí Lodge

Arrival in Leticia and transfer to the river dock. Boat ride along the Amazon River to Amazon Açaí Lodge, with views of the “imaginary point” where Brazil, Peru, and Colombia meet.
Reception, accommodation, and dinner.
Night walk through terra firme forest to observe nocturnal wildlife and the sounds of the jungle.

 

DAY 2 – Terra Firme Jungle Walk and Flooded Forest Lakes

Breakfast and guided walk through terra firme forest to identify ethnobotanical species and learn about forest dynamics.
Observation of key tree species and wildlife (approx. 3-hour walk).
Lunch at the Lodge.
In the afternoon, canoe tour along the Amazon River and the Guakarí creek, visiting river island lakes and appreciating flooded forest landscapes.
Dinner at the Lodge.

 

DAY 3 – Maikuchiga Primate Experience and Artisanal Fishing

Optional: sunrise birdwatching by canoe.
Breakfast and departure to the Mocagua community.
Visit to local homes and crops.
Hike along the Maikuchiga trail to the primate rehabilitation center.
Observation of monkeys in recovery, such as woolly monkeys, capuchins, and squirrel monkeys.
Explanation of the rehabilitation process, ecology, and community-led conservation efforts.
Lunch at the Lodge.
Artisanal fishing activity by boat, with identification of Amazonian fish species.
Dinner and night of stories, myths, and legends of the Amazon.

 

DAY 4 – Puerto Nariño, Traditional Maloca, and Tarapoto Lakes

Breakfast and boat transfer to Puerto Nariño.
Visit to the Moroapu maloca or Ticuna maloca to learn about traditional crops, medicinal plants, crafts, songs, and the use of blowgun and bow and arrow.
Typical lunch.
Town tour in Puerto Nariño and visit to Natutama to learn about aquatic conservation.
Visit to the Naipata viewpoint.
Departure to the Tarapoto lakes for swimming and observation of pink and gray river dolphins.
Return to the Lodge and dinner.

 

DAY 5 – Return to Leticia

Breakfast and speedboat transfer to Leticia.
City tour in Leticia and Tabatinga (market, artisan galleries, border area, commercial district, and Comara viewpoint).
Transfer to the airport.

It is essential to carry valid identification:

  • National ID card (adults)

  • Identity card or birth certificate (minors)

  • Parental authorization when only one parent is traveling and the program requires crossing borders

  • Passport or foreign ID card for foreign visitors or residents

 

It is recommended to have the international yellow fever vaccination certificate (applied at least 10 days before travel) and the tetanus vaccine.
Vaccinations are a preventive suggestion, not mandatory.

 

Bring your medical assistance card, health insurance ID, or pre-paid health plan.

Health and Dietary Information

  • If you are vegetarian, vegan, or have dietary preferences, please inform us before your trip and notify your guide at the beginning of the tour.

  • If you have food allergies or animal allergies, notify the agency and your guide before starting the activities.

  • If you suffer from phobias, especially those related to animals, inform your guide before the tours.

  • Bring any prescribed medications you may need.

 

Photography and Equipment

  • Bring a camera with extra batteries.

  • Use airtight plastic bags or moisture absorbers to protect electronic equipment.
